Prof. Dr. Hazizan is one of the 2014 Top Research Scientist Malaysia conferred by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak. His research interests include polymer composites with special emphasis on natural fibre reinforced composites, mechanics of composites, impact response of composites and sandwich structures, chitosan and dynamic response of composites using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar Technique.

The fields of research interest for Prof. Dr Mohd Noor Ahmad involved in interdisciplinary fabrication of chemical sensors, biosensor and array-sensors. More recently he has been involved with development of nanomaterials for nanosensors and nanobiosensors, nanoantennae for sensors and application of nanosensors/nanoantennae for presymtomatic detection of cancer diseases.

Prof. Dr. Mohd Basyaruddin developed skills in catalysis at synchrotron radiation in Daresbury and Grenoble, protein engineering at Osaka University and genetic engineering at the University of Edinburgh. He is a true multidisciplinary scientist, which interests encompass broad areas from single atom to complex biomacromolecule. He is among the pioneer chemists in this country to synergise experimental results with theoretical insights. He also won Young Scientist recognition from various bodies including ACS, IUPAC and IAP.

Associate Prof Dr Suzana Yusup is the pioneer in developing and setting up biomass research areas at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Previously she was Research Director of Mission Oriented Research in the area of Green Technology and the departmental Head of Chemical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. She has published in numerous journals, articles and conferences both national and international and lead several research grants at national and international levels. Her research interest is in the area of biomass utilization and conversion to fuel and biochemicals, material development (adsorbents) for gas storage and adsorption processes.

Dr Zamani Zulkifli has received his PhD by University of Malaya on 2011. He is working as a senior lecturer at Photonics Research Centre, University Malaya and has been publishing more than 70 ISI cited journals. His innovative research on fibre lasers has a high impact and novelty such as demonstration on dual-wavelength fibre laser for generation of THz source, generation multi-wavelength laser using the non-linear optics effects and also passive ultra fast fiber laser. His research results are published in the top international journals in the field such as IEEE Selected Quantum Electronic, IEEE Lightwave Technology, Applied Optics, and others.
